I had a blast talking about Race and the Making of the Mormon People with KUER’s great Doug Frabrizio.
This is a powerful time to be engaged in this work. But as I told Doug, and as I’ve said many times before, my work as a historian is circumscribed and limited.
I look to the words and leadership of black Latter-day Saints like Darius Gray and the longtime leadership of the Genesis Group, including Jerri and Don Harwell, as well as the Sistas in Zion, and the younger generation of pioneering black Mormons (see Jana Riess’s latest column highlighting such voices) to speak to greater, larger Truths.
Here’s a link to my conversation with Doug.
